Make the Harness and Configuration System Easier to Use
- Make lightweight test suites easier to use
- Allow for more customization
Improve Reporting and Analysis Functionality
- Provide support for test cases. Test cases are discrete entities within test suites that have their own status.
- Provide reporting analysis down to the level of the test case
Improve GUI Functionality
- Add GUI support for test cases
- Streamline the use of previous desktop session settings
- Improve the performance and usability of the main test tree
- Improve start-up time and GUI responsiveness during startup
- Improve the execution speed of very small test runs, especially in batch mode
Other General Functional Improvements
- Add functionality to enable stand-alone test bundles to be "exported"
- Improve JUnit support
- Update code to take advantage of new language functionality
- Add support for the Windows 7 and MacOS platforms
- Add additional service management functionality
- Determine the future direction of the JavaTest Agent
- Update the JavaTest Architect's Guide
- Add more code examples to the documentation
- Route the printing and ignoring of errors, warnings, and exceptions to logging systems
- Support the use of Java 8 modules in test suites
- Use Java 8 modules in the harness code
